Socks that Grip without the Silicon dots
Knitting with a gripping yarn is now as easy as using regular yarns. That means grip socks can be produced without any post knitting processes such as printing on silicon dots. This avoids extra processes on the socks after production and the grip yarn can be engineered into the sock at exactly the precise points to maximise the use intended of that sock.
For example the grip yarn can be used inside the sock in the welt area to ensure that the sock stays up, or particularly in the case of sports wear it can be used in the foot or ankle areas. This can add comfort and performance in socks engineered for football, hockey, rugby, tennis, pilates, walking and numerous other sports. In medical hosiery applications this simple solution also has huge scope.
So there is no longer a need add a further production process and print silicon dots onto the sole area of socks saving time and labour. Added to this the grip yarn is available in colours so it has the added advantage that it can become part of the design in addition to the functional job that it is performing. Indeed the yarn is designed in such a way that after knitting smoothly the grip properties are enhanced during final processing and it’s permanent. Your grip socks are ready and it doesn’t wash off!
Produced from 100% polyester, oekotex 100 class 1 certified and coloured with water free technology this also meets environmental demands.
As you can imagine this technology can also be applied on gloves, tights, jersey knits (santoni types especially), and elastics, etc. Infact the list where antislip characteristics in textiles can help are pretty extensive from textile garments to belting fabrics to carpet backings.
