Looks like an ordinary yarn. This is TPE coated Glass yarn

The monofilament appearance

It has the appearance of a monofilament yarn with a soft texture. It is a special thermoplastic coating over a glass filament core. The thermoplastic coating can be bonded in turn to different types of rubber enabling the ‘no stretch’ properties of the glass filament to be imposed on the final rubber product and at the same time a very high tensile strength to be given to the product. Think of rubber seals and rubberized performance fabrics. This is just one of the many unique and innovative Coat Yarn products we have.

This specific example is using a 272 tex glass yarn and a special TPE coating that can be melted in the 140 to 180 deg c range to create that bridging bond between the glass and the chosen rubber being used. Always check with us so our technicians can advise on any chemistry questions and also to understand if a different core or different thermoplastic solution might be better for your specific needs.
